Big Food Group seeks potential Iceland stores

Big Food Group has conducted a property review to find potential locations for Iceland stores, as it looks to re-ignite its opening programme.

Chief executive Bill Grimsey said the business has identified more than 100 locations where it wants to be.

Grimsey added that Iceland wants to position itself as a major player in the convenience sector, as it rolls out new formats that carry a more extensive fresh offer than traditional freezer centre stores.

He was optimistic that Iceland's store openings this year would be in 'double figures.'
