Rob joined Dixons Carphone in January 2005, and leads the Group HR function, having held a number of leadership roles in the business previously across buying, merchandising, and supply chain in the UK&I and the international business.

His early career was in retail, starting in store roles for Sainsbury’s for seven years before moving into the head office working in a number of buying and supply chain functions. From here Rob joined the learning and development team for two years before returning to manage general merchandise, supply chain and buying.

Rob then joined Dixons, initially working in the PC World fascia of the business, managing merchandising and PC buying. After four years of working in this area, Rob moved into supply chain network planning, before taking the role of managing director of the Hong Kong sourcing office, a role that he held for four years before returning to the UK in July 2017 to take up the role of group HR director (HRD).

The HRD role allows Rob to focus on the areas of the business in which he is the most passionate: “Creating a great place for colleagues to work, growing our own talent from within and providing all colleagues with the tools to go as far as they want within a supportive, fast-paced and exciting business.”
