BDO High Street Sales Tracker

Like-for-like sales figures for the week ending Sunday, November 8

  • Non-fashion sales slid into negative territory for the first time in more than two months. Demand for outdoor goods and gifts were notably weaker.

  • Fashion sales were helped by more seasonable weather conditions and targeted promotions, which boosted sales in some categories. Sales of formalwear registered the best gains.

  • The positive momentum of recent weeks eased, with homewares takings falling back into negative territory. Big-ticket purchases were generally weak.

  • Non-store sales picked up considerably as the national post strike was called off.
