B&Q's Adams in DIY board move

B&Q commercial director George Adams has been promoted to the new Kingfisher DIY operations board following the takeover of Castorama.

Adams has been named group commercial director on the board, which will control Castorama and Brico Depot, as well as B&Q.

A B&Q spokeswoman said Adams will continue to hold both roles until a replacement for his current post is hired.

She said: 'There are synergies between all the (Kingfisher DIY) companies and the jobs. The intention is to find a replacement, but there is no rush.'

Kingfisher has full control of Castorama, but the day-to-day running of the eponymous chain and Brico Depot will continue from the Lille and Paris offices.
