Asda to fill void in skiwear market

Asda is out to fill the void in the value skiwear market created by C&A's departure from the UK high street two years ago. The supermarket's clothing brand George will launch a 24-line 'performance' family skiwear and accessories range in 50 stores at the end of this month. Entry price points are characteristically low, with adult ski suits costing£60 and children's suits starting at£36. The roll-out follows a test in January last year. A spokesman for Asda said: 'We are seeking to do what we have done in other areas - bring good value to areas where there is demand.'
