Like-for-like sales generated in stores in the threes week to February 14 rose 6 per cent and online sales rocketed 53 per cent.
Ann Summers chief executive Jacqueline Gold said: 'We saw a huge uplift in women shopping for Valentine's products, both in store and online. Clearly women are taking the initiative when it comes to love and lust, more than they ever have before.'
