E-tailers lead the way in customer service league
Online firms Amazon and eBay are the leading retailers for customer service, according to a survey published today.

The FDS Comparisat survey placed Amazon and eBay second and third respectively in its customer service league table. The Identity and Passport Service topped the list for the third year running.

All of the four big UK supermarkets feature in the top 10. Asda fell from the number two spot to fourth, and was followed by Morrisons in fifth place. Tesco was in ninth position and Sainsbury's in 10th place, rising from 23rd last year.

Marks & Spencer has also made a return to the top 10, coming seventh after taking 18th place last year.

Overall customer satisfaction in the UK was down, with complaints against big companies up 10 per cent on last year. The utility companies were singled out for the most criticism by consumers.
