Alldays duo quit chain following Co-op takeover

Alldays retail operations directors Mike Gordon and Michael McDevitt are to quit the Co-operative Group in the latest stage of the integration of the two businesses.

Co-operative Group acquired Alldays last October for£131 million. Initially, the Alldays executives became part of the new business, but chief executive Stuart Lawson left earlier this year and now Gordon and McDevitt have followed.

Gordon was retail operations director for Alldays in the North, while McDevitt was his equivalent in the South. Their responsibilities will now be handed to the Co-op's six regional chief officers.

Last month, the Co-operative Group acquired the 111-store- strong Balfour business.
