Adams plans for further concessions in Roches

Childrenswear retailer Adams is extending its concessions arrangement with Irish department store business Roches.

Ireland has 17 fully-fledged Adams stores and the first concessions opened in autumn last year at Roches in Galway and Tralee. A third concession, covering 1,600 sq ft (150 sq m), will open in the Blackrock store near Dublin and more are in the pipeline.

A spokesman for Roches Stores said it had been 'delighted' with the performance of the Adams product.

He said: 'The extension of our partnership to further stores is part of our ambitious investment plans for the group.'

Adams retail managing director Stuart Dickerson said the Roches deal will allow Adams access to markets in 'city centre, suburban and regional retail outlets.'

Adams has been considering ways to extend its reach through different channels and through other brands.

In January, the retailer announced the roll-out of its toddlers Mini Mode in Boots stores across the UK and Ireland.

The two companies spent£5 million developing the sub-brand that includes products such as clothes, soft toys, teething rings and gifts.

The Boots range was launched in February and the agreement expires in 2006.
