Westfield has launched a number of centres in this country and is now building its already huge profile across social media.
The shopping centre group has teamed up with Google to launch a Google+ photo booth in Westfield Stratford City to celebrate the centre’s affiliation with the Olympic Games.
The photo booth is decorated in Westfield’s branding and open to the public free of charge. Shoppers can have their photo taken in the booth, which superimposes them onto a picture of the Olympic Stadium. Photos are emailed to the customer, along with the link to their photo on Google+, and then shared directly to the Westfield UK Google+ profile. By collecting this customer data Westfield can build up its database for future marketing activity.
This is a great way for Westfield to increase brand awareness and build its association with the Games. All photos are watermarked with the Westfield logo and #Iwasthere, its associated campaign running across Twitter and Facebook.
