What it does

Namogoo’s technology blocks malware known as client-side injected malware (CSIM) on retail websites. This malware can take the form of product recommendations and deals, advertisements or spyware scripts that are injected into websites by extensions installed on a customer’s browser.

This malware can disrupt the layout of websites and compromise the safety of shoppers’ personal information, which can result in reduced user retention and lost sales.

“Our servers scan millions of pages 24 hours a day, creating malware injection blocking rule sets in real time and delivering them to the customer’s website via a single line of code” says Namogoo’s chief executive Chemi Katz.

What problem does the technology solve for retailers?

“One of the pitfalls of online retail is customers being exposed to unwanted online pop-ups, such as third-party unauthorised adverts and recommendations for competitors’ products on a retailer’s website” says Katz.

“This can result in a direct loss of customers, revenue and brand integrity, as well as disrupting the flow of a website.”

As well as advertising competitors’ products, online malware can breach a website’s privacy terms as CSIM places cookies in customers’ browsers – all of which can discourage shoppers from using a retailer’s online offer.

Namogoo’s product combats these issues, resulting in increased conversion rate, dwell time and shopper security.
