Coast, Oasis and Warehouse have introduced wi-fi to their stores to enable the roll-out of iPads across all of their UK and European stores.

The retailers have implemented Vodat International’s wi-fi network which will enable full roll-out of iPads this year.

The retailers, which are currently in the process of being spun off into individual companies by owner Aurora Fashions, first introduced iPads to store in October 2011 and have since installed the devices in 60 stores, working alongside Retail Assist.

Aurora Fashions chief financial officer Richard Glanville said: “The use of mobile technology in a retail environment has become a critical part of the multichannel journey.

“Being one of the first few fashion retailers to not just adopt iPad technology, but push the boundaries in terms of service delivered, demonstrates our innovation and ability to deploy solutions quickly - adding value for our customers in a competitive market.”

The iPads serve multiple purposes in the Coast, Oasis and Warehouse stores. They act as a transactional POS system to help reduce queues, improve customer information and act as interactive marketing, displaying images and video content on ranges, products and special offers in changing rooms.

Customers in-store can also use the wi-fi to access the internet on their smartphones.
