Eastpak has opened a London pop-up shop which uses touch screen technology to showcase and sell products including bespoke backpacks.

Boston (Massachusetts)-based Eastpak does pretty much what it says on the bag. It makes and sells backpacks and a range of other bags. As such, it does something that others do and for shoppers there are clear choices between its products and those offered elsewhere.

It does have a difference at the moment: it has opened a pop-up shop in London’s fashionable Spitalfields that will trade until the end of the month.

The store has large touch screens that allow shoppers to browse the range and buy.

It has a couple of red string art installations and at the back of the shop there are a series of plywood boxes around the perimeter that contain bespoke backpacks. Each of these has been created by a well-known designer and shoppers can bid for them with the proceeds going to an Aids charity.

This may be a temporary store, but it is attracting a lot of attention.
