Swedish fashion brand Lindex has opened the doors on its first store in the UK, a 10,500 sq ft space in Westfield Stratford.
The store trades from two floors and is intended to emphasise the brand’s Scandinavian roots.
With a 7m glazed frontage and furniture that is bespoke to the store, this is a step forward for Lindex which has more than 480 stores across the Nordics, the Baltics, Central Europe and Russia.
Other features include a backlit fretwork that provides a textured backdrop for the framed graphics at the store entrance, an oak staircase and a bank of fitting rooms on the ground floor that has a glazed surround and adds a theatrical element to a part of the store that is normally hidden away.
The store interior was designed by Checkland Kindleysides and a second Lindex store will open in Westfield London later this year.
