Convenience chain My Local is planning to sell around 10% of its estate to rivals, including Sainsbury’s, according to reports.

Around 25 of My Local’s stores have been lined up for sale, with the Co-op also circling the sites.

A deal for Co-op to acquire a “handful” of the retailer’s 140 stores is expected to be struck this week, Sky News reported.

My Local was formed last October when convenience veteran Mike Greene fronted a Greybull Capital-backed buyout of Morrisons’ M Local c-store business.

In January it said it was pressing ahead with plans to reformat its stores following a “good” Christmas trading period.

My Local is yet to respond to Retail Week’s request for comment.
