La Senza’s administrators are set to shutter another 12 unprofitable stores, impacting 130 jobs.

The shop closures are in addition to six already shuttered since the lingerie retailer collapsed into administration at the beginning of July.

It means 18 stores from the original 55-strong estate will soon be closed.

Administrator PwC said despite the store closures, it has been assessing expressions of interest in the business.

PwC added that it has received “significant” interest in the property estate from other retailers.

PwC joint administrator Robert Moran said: “We have worked closely with the La Senza brand owner to assess the expressions of interest made regarding the brand. These discussions remain ongoing, however, the difficult decision has been made to close a further 12 unprofitable stores over the coming weeks.

“There has been significant interest from other retailers regarding the property estate and we are exploring all options regarding potential sales.”

PwC blamed La Senza’s collapse on “very difficult trading conditions”.

It came just two years after the UK division of Middle Eastern trading house Alshaya bought La Senza out of administration in a pre-pack deal in 2012. US firm Limited Brands, which owns Victoria’s Secret, also owns the La Senza brand.
