Comment on: Dereliction of duty?
It is unlikely that whatever has taken place originated in the Boardroom. However senior operartional Managers face very tough targets and sometimes this means they deploy tactics which could be seen as 'border line'. With Tesco's power it could happen easily and the whole Management team will require reminding of their social responsibility. All great companies have weaknesses which are only exposed when they get caught out.

Comment on: The wheels come off
In my experience the problems arise when the testing support is withdrawn and the staff take over the systems. Often not enough time is given to training and the rigidity of the systems usually demand 100% accuracy. Once "bad" input data gets into the operating system it can be hell to rectify. Really hope Halfords get it sorted soon as I was in a store today and many shelves looked depressingly short of stock.
