With ecommerce sales growth bound to slow as the market matures, it could help add to the potential online consumers at a crucial point for the industry. She has already convinced Comet to help 50,000 socially excluded consumers to get online. She also has the ear of the Government when it comes to ecommerce matters.

And Lane Fox is still plugged into the online retail industry. She has been vocal in her desire for Marks & Spencer to take ecommerce seriously, and still has a feel for what it’s like to be involved with an online start-up through her non-exec role with Mydeco.
