Jacques Vert Group has replatformed its website to cater for the growth of m-commerce and to make it easier to shop across its seven brands.

Jacques Vert has replatformed its website using Demandware.

The fashion retailer’s marketing director Mark Aldridge said the new platform, powered by Demandware’s technology, means customers can now shop across its Jacques Vert, Kaliko, Planet, Precis Petite, Windsmoor, Eastex and Dash brands using one virtual basket.

He said the shift away from Websphere to Demandware reflects a move towards cloud computing, and makes it easier for the company to stay abreast of developing technology.

Aldridge said: “Our objective is that we will never fall behind again. If wearable technology takes off, we would create new functionality as the software evolves.”

In the coming months, the company plans to continue to develop its online platform, with personalisation technology, internationalisation, localisation and better delivery options.

Aldridge says the company also plans to extend the range of products it sells exclusvely online.

He said: “Online we have very squashy walls so I want to be creating more products for online only.”

Increasingly the retailer is seeing more consumers browse in-store and then shop online, a move that is being driven by its broader size range and its customer magazine, which is distributed in-stores.
