The retail weather forecast from Saturday June 9 to Friday June 15, 2018: A mixture of rain and sun

The week last year

Clearing for all but the North as temperatures climbed to warmer than normal.

The week this year

Temperatures will drop off from near heatwave conditions this week but remain warmer than normal. Last year had a strong warming trend for the middle of June so this year’s warmth will fall a bit short. More thundery showers will brush the South from storms moving into France during the weekend.

Rain and thunder will spread across the country from Monday to Thursday with sunny conditions for the end of the week.

The consumer mindset

Demand for summer categories will remain strong despite temperatures trending below last year. Increasing showers will temper the recent spike in demand for outdoor living, and expect some disruption to footfall.
