Richer Sounds is to extend its use of video demonstrations from its web site to its stores.

It offers a variety of video podcasts on its site on issues such as the differences between plasma and LCD TV screens. These videos have also been posted to YouTube, with the most watched having received more than 15,000 viewings.

The retailer is working with its existing video producer Deluxe Corporation to create suitable content for its stores.

Presentations combining video and computer-generated imagery will be created to show customers how they can best use products such as home cinema equipment.

Richer Sounds marketing director Claudia Vernon said that the retailer liked to give something extra in terms of retail experience, whether the customer shopped online or came to one of its stores. She added: "We want them to make informed decisions about the products they buy."
